Glossary Entry: Roguelike
Quick Definition
A Roguelike is just that - it's a game like Rogue. Rogue is credited for being one of the first fantasy role playing games where the levels were created randomly, guaranteeing a unique world to explore every time you played.
Modern Roguelikes tend to have many more features than the original Rogue, but the overall spirit is there. In fact, it's very possible that modern Roguelikes will actually resemble Nethack - a much more complex Roguelike from gaming's early days - than Rogue.
