Glossary Entry: Hidden Object Game
Quick Definition
Hidden object games are video games based around inventory puzzles and hidden object scenes. Other minigames, especially ones based on logic puzzles, are likely to appear as well.
The better hidden object games feature a story that ties all of the scenes and puzzles together as part of a larger narrative. These games are also known for being fairly calm and relaxing - there's rarely any real hurry or pressure to move forward, allowing the player to take their time solving the puzzles they encounter.
