Glossary Entry: Expansion Pack

Definition

An expansion pack is a set of additional levels, items, and other content for an existing game. These are typically sold as a separate product, so you'll need to already own the game they're for in order to use them.

Today, expansion packs have been almost completely replaced by DLC, which serves the same purpose and is generally easier to use.
