Glossary Entry: Circle Strafing
Definition
Circle strafing is a technique that was popularized in older First Person Shooters. It's little more than running circles around an enemy or cluster of enemies while shooting at them.
Since these games required you to be facing your target, players would strafe (ie, move sideways) while turning towards their enemies. This is surprisingly effective, as the AI in older games wasn't smart enough to lead their target and would have trouble hitting you if you kept moving.
