Definition
Spyware refers to software that spies on users - ie, it monitors what the user is doing or shares private information to a third party without the user's knowledge or approval.
Among other things, spyware often looks for email addresses, personal information or passwords.
Regardless of its actual use, you don't want spyware on your computer.
