Glossary Entry: Key Binding

Definition

Also known as key mapping, key binding refers to the way keys on your keyboard are linked to specific actions within a program. Many programs allow users to change which keys are used for what - a process known as rebinding or remapping the keys.

When a key is assigned to an action, it is said to be "bound" to that action.
