Definition

Idle games are a strange genre - you "play" them by running them in the background while you do something else on your computer. The gameplay, if you can call it that, generally amounts to the player micromanaging the game's activities once in a while.

The most famous example BY FAR is Cookie Clicker, which spends its time baking virtual cookies.
