Glossary Entry: Barrier Boss

A barrier boss is a special type of boss that can defend itself from more than one type of damage, but not at the same time. In other words, when they are protected against one type of attack, they become vulnerable to another.

Players are thus required to change tactics along with the boss's defenses, encouraging strategic play.

In many cases, this character is depicted as having a "barrier" or "shield" of some sort. If you're lucky, the barrier's color will change to indicate what types of attacks won't work.
