Definition
These are the games made by large, established video game studios - or in other words, AAA games are the "blockbusters" of the gaming industry. As they frequently cost millions of dollars to produce, they tend to boast some of the best graphics and technology currently available to developers.
However, if we're being honest, a lot of that money goes into advertising for the game, and so these are the titles most gamers (and many non-gamers) are going to recognize, for better or worse.
