Glossary Entry: Casual Gamer

Quick Definition

The exact opposite of a hardcore gamer, casual gamers play video games just for fun. They don't typically care about getting the best items, earning achievements, or detailed stories. Instead, they treat video games as a short distraction from everyday life.

Since they aren't interested in getting involved with complicated mechanics or long plots, the best games for this type of gamer are simple and short, with few or no unlockable features -- or in other words, casual games.
