Glossary Entry: Unlock

Quick Definition

Sometimes a game is designed to prohibit the player from accessing a feature until they've performed a specific action. The inaccessible feature is said to be "locked", and naturally enough "unlocking" the feature means performing whatever action grants you access to it.

A common example is that you can only do quest B if you've already completed quest A. In this case, completing quest A will unlock quest B.
