Glossary Entry: Tablet

A tablet computer, often just called a "tablet", is a type of portable computer. These are very compact, featuring a touchscreen in place of a physical mouse or keyboard. Essentially, they are like large smartphones that cannot make phone calls.

Apple's iPad is a popular example of a tablet computer.
