Profile

Quick Definition

A person's profile is their account at a specific service or, more commonly, just the part of their account that is publicly viewable.

Public profiles are basically a little page you can use to let other users of that service know more about you. For example, there are usually places for you to display your contact information, social media links, interests and a small area for you to write a little about yourself. Profiles on services like Steam allow you to share what games you like to play and what achievements you've earned.

Games often use profiles as a means of letting more than one user record their progress. In this sense, a profile is simply a user's saved game.
