Glossary Entry: Permadeath

Quick Definition

This is the exact opposite of a lives system and a feature only found in very hardcore games. You have exactly one chance to play through the game from beginning to end, and if your character is killed anywhere along the way the game is over.

If the game allows you to save, you can take as many breaks as needed, but if you fail then these saved games will be automatically deleted.

Everything is lost when you lose a game with permadeath. There are no second chances here: death is permanent in these games!
